dairy-free chocolate milkshake

chocolate dairy-free protein milkshake

dairy-free chocolate milkshake is an excellent post workout smoothie filled with raw vegan plant-based protein.

plant-based proteins are easily digestible and following a workout it is best to consume high quality food to aid your body in rebuilding the tissues that’ve been broken down….after all, the difference in achieving your fitness goals relies on your body’s ability to recover from the stresses of exercise.

once you’ve finished a workout your body seeks nutrients derived from whole foods and the quicker you fill the need the quicker you begin rebuilding.

additionally your body is too busy replenishing itself to be bothered with a  heavy load of digestion making a liquid or something near liquid beneficial. filled with coconut, cacao, banana and macca this dairy-free chocolate milkshake has become my go-to post-workout smoothie. it also makes for a simple, raw, vegan afternoon energy boost.

and as an additional bonus–it totally tastes like dessert.

Yum. I love these types of smoothies. I’ll try substituting carob powder for the cacao as I’m sensitive to the caffeine. I imagine it will still be pretty good!
