therapeutic private yoga instruction
the private yoga instruction program at colorado athletic club-flatirons is officially underway and i am over the moon to be a part of the team. it is very exciting to have the opportunity to work with a skilled group of teachers and share with others the therapeutic applications of hatha yoga. the practice of yoga has truly been a gift and in applying the fundamentals of yoga to my daily actions i have been able to heal my body following broken bones and torn muscles. i’ve also been able to remove pain, locate a healthy range of flexibility, build strength, control and manage exercise induced asthma and the list goes on and on and on.
private yoga instruction essentially is:
an individually designed one-on-one therapeutic yoga program
for the beginner to advanced student
a restriction or injury to the body will ultimately impede your best efforts towards optimal health and well being. through learning and practicing the therapeutic applications of hatha yoga it is possible to heal the body and prevent further injury or set back. slowing down can actually keep you moving forward! it is also possible to structure that practice in a manner that supports your body by altering and adjusting poses to work for you.
yoga private instruction is for you:
if you deal with acute or chronic injury
if you have questions about specific actions of a posture but have been timid to ask aloud during class
or if your question is more than could be covered in a short class discussion
if you’ve had an ah-hah moment that piqued your interest and you want to explore it further
or maybe you are looking to build an at-home practice and would like direction, support and/or accountability
private yoga instruction is like a mini workshop or training designed and tailored to your unique concern or circumstance. a session with me will focus on proper alignment and the integration of the physical body. it is a great option for those of you looking to deepen the experience of your flow or power yoga practice, ask questions that are not easily answered in a class setting, rehabilitate and prevent injury, assess and adjust particular asanas while deepening your understanding of the mechanics, and even build or strengthen a personal home practice. if you are new to yoga it is also a great setting to create a basic understanding of the practice and to set a proper foundation that suits your unique needs.
sessions are 60 or 90 minutes long and you are able to purchase a single session or packs of 4, 8 and 12 through the club.
